In 2021, we announced a bold vision to open 25 new stores by 2027, doubling the store count of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont. In 2022, we opened six new stores, and relocated our store in Shelby, for a total of seven new stores.
This growth allows our nonprofit to create impactful employment opportunities at Goodwill locations, adding an estimated 750 new positions by 2027.
